You can enter these groups if you don\u2019t enable the <strong>Protect Your Posts<\/strong> feature on the settings page.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of February 2024, the platform doesn\u2019t allow users with <a href=\"https:\/\/tweetdelete.net\/resources\/how-to-go-private-on-twitter-to-protect-your-online-privacy\/\">private accounts<\/a> to become members of various communities. Look for a Community and Join Them<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can start looking for a Twitter community to join by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The quick navigation panel has the <strong>Communities<\/strong> button. On the desktop browser, you can see this menu on the left side of your screen. If you use the mobile app, swipe right to bring out this menu. Tap <strong>Communities<\/strong> to go to X\u2019s page for online groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On top of your screen, there\u2019s an icon of a magnifying glass. This button lets you search for communities on X. If you\u2019re on the desktop browser, don\u2019t use the search bar in the top right corner. Instead, left-click the button with the magnifying glass icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>X will recommend several groups under the <strong>Discover <\/strong><strong>Communities<\/strong> tab. This depends on your interests and activity on the platform. Enter the name of the group, interest, or hobby.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you find a relevant community, open it. You\u2019ll see one of these options below the group\u2019s bio:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Join<\/strong>: This means anyone can join the social hub. Left-click this button, and X displays the rules of the group. Go through them and select <strong>Agree and Join<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ask<\/strong> <strong>to<\/strong> <strong>join<\/strong>: In these situations, you have to get permission from the community\u2019s moderator to join the group. Select the <strong>Ask to Join<\/strong> button, review the community rules, and left-click <strong>Agree and Join<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s also another way to join a community on X. If you know someone who is already a member, ask them if they can send an invite. Members can do this if the community\u2019s admin enables this setting \u2014 <strong>Ask To Join + Allow members to issue invitations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you accept the invite, you\u2019ll join the group immediately. You needed to explain your group\u2019s focus and the type of people who will become community members of your hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the introduction of <a href=\"https:\/\/tweetdelete.net\/resources\/x-premium-how-to-unlock-a-new-experience-on-twitter\/\">X Premium<\/a>, the platform changed this requirement. Now, you need to be a subscriber to create a community. This feature is available to all tiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how to make a Twitter community:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the <strong>Communities<\/strong> tab on your device. You can see this option on the desktop browser in the quick navigation panel. On the other hand, the app doesn\u2019t display this menu by default. You need to tap the button with your profile picture or swipe right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the top of the <strong>Communities<\/strong> page, you\u2019ll see two icons. One button has the outline of two people and a plus sign. Left-click this button, and the <strong>Create a New Community<\/strong> popup appears on your screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need to choose a community name and describe the purpose of your group. People will go through this description to understand what they should expect from your social hub.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You also have to choose the type of membership for your community. There are three options to choose from:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Open<\/strong>: Any user who comes across your group can join.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Restricted<\/strong>: Users must send requests and will only become members after the moderator gives them explicit permission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Restricted + Allow members to issue invitations<\/strong>: Users need the moderator\u2019s approval to become a new member of your community. The existing members of your group can also invite others and bypass this process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Left-click the <strong>Create<\/strong> button on top of the popup to start the group.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"An_Overview_of_Twitter_Community_Notes\"><\/span>An Overview of Twitter Community Notes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Twitter community notes, formerly Birdwatch, are X\u2019s solution to reducing the spread of inaccurate information on the platform. Although people can post anything they like, the content may be incorrect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than take down the post, the platform enables members of its Twitter community notes to address the tweet. Members can highlight the inaccuracies in the post and provide context.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know a post has a community note when you see these messages below the tweet:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Readers added context.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Readers added context they thought people might want to know.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The contributors will provide an explanation disputing the claim of the post. Also, it contains a link to verify the claims of the contributors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>X started this moderation project in <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.x.com\/en_us\/topics\/product\/2021\/introducing-birdwatch-a-community-based-approach-to-misinformation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2021 as Birdwatch<\/a>. After Elon Musk became the owner of this social media platform, he rebranded it to Community Notes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially, this feature was only available in the U.S. In December 2022, the platform removed this restriction and made it available to everyone regardless of location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although a large portion of the contributors are from the U.S., this is changing quickly. X is now accepting members from over 60 regions worldwide. It also aims to extend its contributor network to as many countries as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform tries to avoid biases in its notes by asking members with different perspectives to rate the notes. It doesn\u2019t rely on mass voting to determine whether the note is helpful, as people can manipulate the results. Below the <strong>Signing Up<\/strong> section, you\u2019ll see the button <strong>Sign Up Here<\/strong>. Tap it, and the mobile app opens on your device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap <strong>Join Community Notes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>X will show multiple aliases. Choose your unique identity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need to rate several notes before X allows you to write your own. Find Tweets With Inaccurate Information and Add a Note<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now start including notes in posts containing incorrect information by following this guide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you come across a tweet with inaccurate content in your timeline, left-click the three-dot button next to it. This opens the post\u2019s menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Left-click <strong>Write a Community Note<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Answer all the questions X will ask.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need to provide context to the post:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you say it isn\u2019t misleading, the platform won\u2019t show your note on the platform.
